Dave and I call our podcast Two Gen X Dads, and I’m feeling my middle age this week: My wife and I spent many of the last few days at our oldest son’s college family weekend, and my heart is full.
But that didn’t stop me from linking up with Dave and recording a fresh episode. The first topic? the death penalty.
We recorded the episode just before the government announced an upcoming execution will not be live-streamed, which was the initial plan. We still spent a good amount of time exploring what the Bible says about it; no matter what your personal position, I bet the conversation will challenge you.
But that’s not all! We also discussed spanking, and the Bible’s position on parental discipline. Speaking of my oldest, I tell a story about my oldest, and the moment I realized I had to correct him differently.
And finally, there’s this horror movie out, Other Mommy. We go to scripture to explore why the concept works: Mothers are protectors, and the idea of them being a threat just feels wrong.
